Hey, thanks for the library / education copy! I'm currently working on a student-run publication project with a theme that closely aligns with the Librarian's Apprentice. Having the actual files makes it much easier to explain and convince my team members to include it. The editorial team has precisely 0 budget to spend on licensing content (our material is mostly original) but I strongly believe in including a solo RPG, so having this great game be under Creative Commons is really helpful. Although, I do sincerely apologize if I claimed the wrong kind of copy... If that is indeed the case, I hope it's not a big issue. If it is, let me know how to resolve it.

Hi! I'm trying the game for the first time and I have a question about the map. I don't know if I'm missing anything but I can't see its purpose. Also do you replace the cards in the map? For example you are in 7 and have a 4 below, and then draw a 3. Do you place the 3 on top of the 4/discard the 4?
I'm really enjoying the game otherwise, I love the concept of a little apprentice traversing an infinite and magical library
Thanks for playing, and I'm delighted to hear you are enjoying it! When it comes to the map, the only bit that can impact the game is the suit of the card that represents the area you are currently in. Aside from that, the map is just a (hopefully) fun exercise, so you can place cards however you want.
I like to place the cards so that just the corners overlap because it gives me the space to put sketches on them, like in the image below. I’ve also seen folks:
Place the cards edge-to-edge, letting them overlap wholly when necessary and blaming the chaos that comes from that on the shifting of the Library.
Ignore the card placement rules and just create a “Library area” pile with the current area at the top so they know the suit if there is a Complication to deal with.
Thank you for the education copies! I’m going to try using this (and others that I’m looking at) to inspire my elementary students to work on their writing and learn that they can have fun writing!

This is just wonderful - I showed my 9-year-old daughter (who loves anything to do with libraries) how to play and she loves it. She's very excited about having a game like this to play on her own and gets a huge kick out of describing the new rooms and types of documents.

Thank you for making this fantastic and fantastical homage to libraries! I love that it has substantial mechanics, not just prompts, and the imagery and creatures are intriguing and flavorful. It's one of the best pamphlet-style games I've read yet. I am a youth services librarian at a public library. We've been trying to get RPGs rolling at our library, and I hope to introduce this game to our teen writing group this summer.

If any of them get inspired to write their own game of this sort, I can heartily recommend the Firelights Creator Kit. The license on this game is such that they are welcome to grab whatever they want from it as well!
The presentation of this game is fantastic. I love the choice to make the pamphlets look like old book covers and the character sheet a bookmark. Sincere congratulations.
